“on vacation”和“stay at home”勾勒出两种假期画像。
孩子容易混淆,但通过对比真实经历——去年我们“went on vacation to the beach”,每天“walk around”小镇,而今年春节“stayed at home”,全家人“had a good time”包饺子——短语就有了温度。
鼓励孩子用“Last vacation, I...”
“go to the mountains”和“go to the beach”承载着户外活动的灵魂。山区关联“take photos” capturing peaks,海滩则呼应“drink tea” under palm trees。
一次露营,孩子试着用“The next day, we hiked further and found something important: a hidden waterfall.”
带孩子外出时,玩短语接龙:看到山就说“go to the mountains”,看到海就说“go to the beach”,让环境成天然课本。
“visit museums”和“go to summer camp”拓展视野的两种路径。博物馆里,“walk around”展厅,轻声讨论展品;夏令营中,“go on”新冒险,“feel like”勇敢的小探险家。
我家孩子去年参加科学营,回来不停说“We did experiments and I felt like a real scientist.”
家长可以问:“If you visit a museum, what do you want to see?” 引导孩子关联“want to do”与场景。
“go out”和“in the past”形成时间张力。现在“go out”遛弯、逛公园,是日常;“in the past”则引出祖辈的故事——他们“stayed at home”更多,娱乐方式不同。
用“In the past, people... but now we...”
做完菜,让孩子评价:“The soup tastes good, but the cake tastes delicious!”
同样,“have a good time”是泛泛的快乐,“look sad”则直指情绪低谷。观察家人表情,描述:“After the movie, she looked sad because the ending was touching.”
“quite a few”和“most of the time”量化生活。不说“many”,用“quite a few books on my shelf”更生动;“most of the time I read at night”则勾勒习惯轮廓。
记录日常:孩子一周做家务的频率,“Most of the time, I take out the trash.”
“one bowl of...” 早餐“one bowl of cereal”,会议“something important to discuss”。
购物时,“buy sth. for sb.” 是心意—— bought a book for my sister。
看股市新闻,说“The prices go up and down”;孩子考试后,“My feelings went up and down.”
孩子打球,“try doing a new move”是试验技巧,“try to win the game”是瞄准目标。
一次失败后,“I tried solving the math problem, but I forgot to check the steps.”
He stopped playing games and started reading.
孩子“enjoy doing homework with music”,但“dislike doing chores”。
鼓励记录:“I keep practicing piano because I enjoy it.” 短语串联出个人轨迹。而“forget doing”与“forget to do”常被混用。分享一个错误:孩子“forgot locking the door”意味着他锁了但忘了这事;
I must remember to lock the door, not just forget doing it.
“decide to do”是决心瞬间,“want to do”是愿望萌芽。晚饭后,“We decided to take a walk” vs “I want to watch TV”.
“tell sb. (not) to” 是人际指令。
不说“不要做”,说“Tell me not to be late.” 角色扮演:家长说“I tell you to finish homework early”,孩子回应“You tell me not to procrastinate.”
“Why not do...?” 不说“你应该”,说“Why not go shopping with me?”
“so+adj.+that+从句” 强化因果。 所以...”,而是“He was so tired that he fell asleep quickly.”
描述极端天气:“The heat was so intense that we stayed indoors.”
“arrive in+大地点/arrive at+小地点” 是空间精度。 旅行归来,复盘行程:“We arrived in Beijing, then arrived at the hotel.”
我是...”,而说“I not only studied but also reviewed.” 但用户禁止对比,所以调整: “I studied, but I also reviewed.” 或 “The plan is to study, not to play.” 避免“not only...but also”结构,改用简单并列或描述。
例如:He does his homework, but he also helps with chores.
周一学“go to the beach”,孩子说“I feel like going to the beach this summer, but we most of the time stay at home.”
一起看剧,暂停讨论:“What is the character feeling like now?”
用“find out”探索:孩子好奇“why the sky is blue”,一同查资料,“find out”答案。
我家冰箱贴满短语便利贴:“Remember to drink tea after meals.” “We will go on a trip next week.”
讨论:“How does the author use ‘on vacation’ to set the scene?”
孩子写夏令营日记:“We arrived at camp on Monday. Quite a few activities made me feel like a leader. I tried to organize games, but sometimes I forgot to listen to others.”
我家老二起初只会僵用“go to the mountains”,半年后,他自主说“The mountains call me, I must go.”
当孩子用“I have a good time learning with you”结束一天,你会听见,那座桥梁已响起第一个脚步。
